- Get Lemon Grass Stalks: Finely Chopped
- Make ready Handful: Thai Holy/Sweet Basil Leaves- Torn with hands & just put in
- Get Garlic Cloves: Roughly Chopped
- Get Fresh Ginger: Finely Chopped
- Get Fresh Green Chillies: Finely Chopped
- Make ready Onion: Big & Finely Chopped
- Take Dark Soy Sauce
- Take Light Soy Sauce
- Take Sweet Chilli Sauce
- Make ready Garnish: Your own way
Cauliflower is tossed in sweet chili sauce and roasted until soft and tender. One of my favorite ways to make cauliflower is to roast it in the oven! In a mixing bowl, stir together the flour, garlic powder, and salt. The best part of sesame chicken has always been the sauce… It's the sauce, not the chicken, that makes you crave Panda Express every time you walk past the food court in the mall.
Steps to make Thai Sesame Cauliflower in Sweet-Chilli Sauce:
- To begin with: Add in a stock-pot sufficient water in RT with some salt & bring it to a rolling boil & then, drop in the cut up cauliflower florets into it, stirring gently by immersing them all into that boiling water- Turn off the flame and with the lid on, let it sit alike for about 5-7 mins time & then, strain all the water nicely & pat dry the florets nicely
- Now, into a large mixing bowl: Add in the parboiled cauliflower florets with some more salt & black pepper powder, cornflour & flour, you can choose to add in some paprika powder into it as well (optional though) & give it all a nice toss to get well coated with the same, add in some water (very little to help the thick batter stick to the florets nicely & not fall off- Set Aside for about 15 mins time before deep frying them…
- Heat up a frying pan/wok/kadhai: Add in sufficient oil for deep frying all of them in batches and successions- Strain with a slotted spoon/spatula and place them on a separate plate lined up with the kitchen towel or a flat colander (as is seen in the pics) ☝️ to allow the excess oil to get absorbed/soaked or drained nicely
- In another pan/pot/wok/vessel: Add in the required amount of sesame oil for cooking the rest of the ingredients mentioned herein & prepare the sauce too- Add in the aforesaid chopped veggies & herbs with again a very little salt, sauté until they turn aromatic & translucent & a bit reduced in its quantity
- Now, once that’s done: The flame goes to the medium-low- Add in the Soy Sauce & the Sweet Chilli Sauce- Give it all a really good mix- Toss it a few times to get everything nicely & well coated, blended & incorporated- Sprinkle it with some Sesame Seeds to top it all
- Flame goes off- Transfer it to a serving bowl/plate/platter and garnish it with some more sesame seeds and basil leaves… Well, why wait any longer Meal is ready…Just dive in
- Oh Yes !!! Don’t forget to serve it with some Soft, White, Fluffy- Jasmine Sticky Rice Bowl or even our usual Piping hot steamed rice is excellent too (since I prefer the latter than the former, it’s just to make the presentation look good) Will share the link for preparing the Jasmine Sticky Rice, once I share it as a separate recipe in sometime now Enjoy your meal of the day
